Old Kingstonians 2 – Ramgarhia 3

A hard earned win for Ramgarhia 1st (XI) – who made hard work for themselves after going 2-0 up!

The first half saw a very inactive Old Kingstonians (OK’s) side presumably still suffering from office Xmas party hangovers. Ramgarhia took advantage of this and punished the OK’s defense with attack upon attack. Sooner or later a goal was sure to go in. Bahadar Panesar made way with a simple reverse tap from a defensive error.

Ramgarhia did have a couple of scares in the first half. Hits into the D saw a couple of deflections go into the direction of the Ramgarhia goal – was it a warning sign of what was to happen in the second half?

A scrambled scrap in the OK’s D saw another goal from Bahadar Panesar whose effort slowly crept underneath the goalie and over the line.

The second half saw a revitalized OK’s team who then made it difficult for Ramgarhia to get back into the game. Most of the game was played in the Ramgarhia half with very few attacks in the OK’s D. The half saw OK’s creep back into the game with 2 easy goals from some more sloppy Ramgarhia defending. There were also a few horrendous tackles made from both sides – it was an OK player that was sent off with a yellow card. Mandip Mahal made and appearance with 20 minutes to go (thanks MangoJ).

With a few minutes to go it was an OK’s mistake from a 16 yard hit out which Manjit Gahir intercepted and quickly sent the ball in the path of Parmi Soor who was in the D with no OK players in sight. He unselfishly gave the ball to Ranbir Girn who was in an ideal goal scoring position. Ranbir (aka Pillay) lined up the shot and smashed the ball passed the goal keeper!
